updates and news

It’s summer and it’s been HOT in Pennsylvania. We haven’t let that stop us though. This is one of the biggest updates in recent times!

Hand/Eye is releasing the new Stone Breath album, CRYPTIDS, and it is ready for pre-order. The band worked very hard on this release over the past year – we think it shows! 12 new songs about cryptid creatures, Pennsylvania folklore, ghosts, and similar weirdness. The in-store date is September 30, 2016 – you can pre-order via Stone Breath’s bandcamp page or, of course, Dark Holler Arts. The CD edition comes with bonus material, including 2 extra songs.

While they were working on CRYPTIDS, Stone Breathers AE Hoskin and Timothy were also working on a book, Beyond the Seventh Gate. This book covers some of the same territory as CRYPTIDS. Written and illustrated by Timothy with photos by AE Hoskin.

There are several other items related to both CRYPTIDS and Beyond the Seventh Gate: A photographic printA print of a drawing; sets including the book and CD together; a color patch; etc etc. Just have a look at the recent items on the website to see the different combinations.

Also just released and available now from Hand/Eye: United Bible Studies I Am Full Gibbous ltd CDr. A wonderfully haunted album of experimental psych-folk and improvised invocation.

Eleventh Key will be releasing the new album by  The Owls Are Not What They Seem on CD and digital download this fall. The album will be called Hearth.

We have recently become the official US distributor for Ambivalent Scale records. A-Scale is home to Eyeless in Gaza and Martyn Bates. We have added the Mythic Language 3CD set as well as Mania Sour both by Eyeless in Gaza – PLUS Fireworks & Jewels / The Colour of AmberArriving Fire, and Unsung all by Martyn Bates. (Martyn happens to provide guest vocals on one song on Stone Breath’s CRYPTIDS.)

Lost Grave has a new release upcoming from Black Chasm. Heavy heavy doom. Stay tuned.

An ongoing reminder about postage costs. We are aware our shopping cart calculates postage high sometimes (other times it is exactly right though!). We are still trying to find a solution… this may mean going back to the old postage-paid pricing system – which doesn’t really help international orders as the postage-paid pricing adds up very quickly. As always, we are happy to refund some postage costs on orders where the shopping cart calculates it too high (we do this automatically)- it isn’t our goal to try to make extra money on postage. We are also very happy to give you an exact quote for postage before you order – it’s no problem at all.
